Japan series - Surippa, indoors slippers - original drawing
By Veronique VanblaereJapanese shoes etiquette is a bit more complex than just taking them off at the entryway of a house. Different slippers are worn in separate parts of the house, like the loo, and absolutely no slippers are allowed in the tatami room. To avoid faux-pas, it’s usually a good idea to observe what others are doing before you move too fast. Also, wearing easy off and on footwear makes your life easier.
Drawing in ink and watercolor on watercolor paper. 5X7" matted to 8x10”.
I usually draw a few of each illustration instead of making prints, as it allows my customers to get an original drawing at an affordable price, which end up being less than what a print would cost. And each is still unique.
